Pearl Stephens was born January 6, 1920 to the late Green and Lelia Baily in Dansville, Georgia. She was the ninth of 16 children. All of them preceded her in death. She attended school in Dansville Georgia. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized under the pastorate of Rev. E.L. King of the Higgsville Baptist Church. She then moved to Cleveland, Ohio and united with the Lily Baptist Church in 1943, under the late Rev. J. C. Barnwell, Sr. and continued her faith under Rev. J.C. Barnwell, Jr. She sang in the Senior Choir and served as the president. she remained a faithful member until her health failed her. Everybody who met Pearl loved her. She loved spending time with her family but more than anything, she enjoyed cooking. She was united in marriage to the late Norman Stephens, Sr. in 1938 and to this union four children were born, Norman Jr., Willie, Ernest and Pearl; all of who preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories granddaughters, Michelle, Tracy, Debbie, Donna Delora; grandsons, Myron and Tony; a devoted great-grandson, Brian and a host of other great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
