I met Sophie at St. Timothy’s when I was hired to be a second grade teacher. I was a Methodist at that time. Sophie led me in my journey to become a Catholic. During this time I lost my Mom to Alzheimer’s. I am the youngest in my family, so she forgot me first. Sophie was always there for me. When my Mom passed away, she told me, now that my Mama was in heaven, she would be my Mama on Earth. She was there for me 24/7! She would always tell people, “This is my daughter Nanci, she just a little light skinned.” Her daughter Mary, became my sister, I talked to her whenever I was worried about Mama.
God truly blessed me with an amazing family.
