Knolveree Varner Forney, a long-life resident of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, passed away on November 14, 2018 at the age of 82. She is survived by her beloved husband, Albert Mack Forney Sr.; her children Keith Duane and Myrna Beatrice (Michael) and her sister, Dr. Linda Varner Mount. She was predeceased by her son Albert M. Forney, Jr., her mother Fannie Mae Varner, her father Manles Moses Kelly Varner, her sister Myrna and her brother Irving. Knolveree will be lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren Phalon, Skylar, Jordan, MacKenzie, Aidan, Jacob and Sahana. She will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and god-grandchildren as well as numerous relatives, extended family and dear friends.
Knolveree started her career as a Registered Nurse and worked serving her patients for over 25 years. To allow for her love of travel, she changed careers and began working for United Airlines. She held many positions during her tenure at United beginning as a gate agent, a customer service representative, transitioning to the back office working with United employees through the Help Desk and in the later years becoming a Regional Apollo Systems Training Manager, serving travel agents in the North Eastern quadrant of the United States. In her final years with United, after being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, she returned to her roots, working as a gate agent before retiring.
Knolveree volunteered with Meals on Wheels and supported several charitable efforts. Her main focus throughout her life was her family. She happily held the position of Head Cheerleader for all things grandchildren related. Her cheerleading included her constant support of her nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, god-grandchildren, family and friends. She loved life, conversation, traveling and helping others by sharing the gifts of insight gained through a lifetime of learning and her wisdom based on her relationships and experiences.
In lieu of funeral services, and to honor our mother’s desire to serve others, the family fundraising to support the establishment of an endowment for Cancer Research at The Case Western Reserve University in her name. The endowment will be used to fund a wide array of innovative/cutting edge cancer research treatments and techniques in the search for cures.
