It came upon a beautiful glorious and sunny Saturday, March 27, 2021.  While the angels sang with glory, Annie peacefully rested with joy.

Annie Claude Jackson Smith was born on February 13, 1933 to the late Owen and Maggie B. Copeland in Manchester, Georgia.  To this union, Annie was the fourth child of nine children.  She attended Valley Grove Baptist Church and was baptized at the age of 13.  She served as a junior and senior usher.

Annie attended Valley Grove Elementary School from the 1st to the 9th grade.  She attended Woodland High School from the 10th thru the 12th grade.  During this time, she enjoyed playing volleyball.  Annie took piano lessons, braided children’s’ hair in the neighborhood, cooked, cleaned and sewed.

Annie relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in the early 1950’s where she met and married Cornelius E. Jackson.  To this union four children were born.  Annie enjoyed working with the printing division.  She worked for the city of Cleveland, Mameco and The Container Corporation of America for over 30 years.  Annie also enjoyed nourishing and caring for people.  So, she worked with Primary Care Nursing and Visiting Angels until taking ill in March of 2020.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Daughters: Cornelia J. Stapler and Annette Jackson-Nettles; Sons: Cornelius Jackson, Jr. and Angelo Jackson; Granddaughters: Lela, Stephanie and Janae Stapler; Grandsons: Cleo M. Nettles, Jr. and Lanar Nettles; Sisters: Clematine Copeland and Shirlene Kelly; Brother: Charlie Jr. Copeland; Brother-In-Law: Frank Gross; Great Aunt: Sarah Massey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by: Brothers: Ben Owens and Willie Lee Copeland; Sisters: Mary Lizzie McCoy, Minnie B. Ferguson and Johnnie Mae Gross, Husbands: Cornelius E. Jackson and Wille E. Smith.
