Dear Family,
Michael was a person of many talents. He had a beautiful handwriting that caught my eye first and would write poems, letters, completing Beverly student’s books so eloquently. Michael would take on a task until completion no matter how difficult it was. The boy could cook too.
Michael would talk about his parents and grandparents, trouble he and siblings would get in and the fun you all had together hanging out. His children were his greatest joy, even though he was not there all the time he had stories of your upbringing and how proud he was of you accomplishments as you became adults. Tony you were always in the conversations too. You all may not have seen or heard much from him but truly “loved and worried about you”.
Mr. Mike as my daughters and granddaughters called him was a father and grandfather figure to them. They had a relationship of respect, looked to him for answers and guidance.
Michael volunteered at St. Paul Community Church and found an extend family of friends who became the “Old Boys Club”. The friendships he shared was of great value to him. He may fuss about the community people and the crazy things that would happen at the Outreach Program but he enjoyed doing being a part of it all.
He is gone now and is missed by a lot of people. Remember, even though he sounded harsh and tried to tell you how life really is he was showing his love and wanting better for you as a person. I will miss our discussions and watching him read his books. The one thing I do know he is with his our Lord, family and friends, looking down as a “Guardian Angel.”
