Uncle Eddie was a fascinating man. I have so many fond memories of fun experiences I had with him. Two stories that stand out particularly are, when he let me drive his red Trans Am when I could barely drive. He knew it and was still so free with it. Another is, when he visited me in Colorado and wore leather pants. Uncle Eddie made history by being among the first African American men to be enlisted into the Marines. It was finally recognized by President Obama. A long-awaited and deserved honor.

Uncle Eddie was a great uncle, I will always remember when they all came to Miami to visit us and we went to Key West, such a great time and he would always say to my mom, she can drive the girl can drive. Will miss him saying that. Rest In Peace Uncle!!

    Love from all us ❤️❤️

My dad was the best. Met Corretta King at his school function. Met Muhammad Ali at lunch in Florida. Met a tusgekee airman at a function in Alabama. He found nice houses for me. Spoiled my son the right way. Bought his first car. If his family needed anything he got it. They called him big money Griff. He was the best dad and friend. He taught me real construction skills. He was a true Hustler. Received a gold medal for being one of the first blacks in the Marines during WW2, he was unique. A good Man. Thanks for helping me raise my son, good job. Much love, will miss him much. RIP. Job well done. Gigi

When he first came to Cleveland to visit his brother, he told me he asked his brother for some money, his brother told him to go get a job, he did,and so the Hustler showed up. He made money. He retired from Warner and Swasey after almost forty years. He owned a bar and contracting company. Versatile. Took the family on trips, yeah never forget the Bahamas, every year. Bought my son a collection of Michael Jordan tennis shoes, what? Nothing but the best

When I first met Mr.Griffin, he bestowed great wisdom and knowledge to me. He was a great role model.

Civil rights movement, he sent me to a private school with mostly rich white girls, hear me, learned the same level existed. Same page as Martin Luther King spoke about. Yup, great wisdom

When I say what I say, experience showed the way to show what I say, so praise be to God he’s back your way
