MR. CORNELL HODGES

Passed away March 24, 2021. Viewing: Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at H. M. Martin Funeral Home.

Obituary On January 15,1950, in Cleveland, Ohio 2nd son Cornell Hodges, was born  to Mr. Willie Fred and Thelma Hodges. Cornell attended Cleveland public schools. Following high school Cornell attended Welding School and later school for electrician.
As fate would have it Cornell was introduced to Yolande Carter and later married her in 1976, 2003 and again in 2013.To that union was born Eric Cornell. Cornell had an older son Cornell Germaine Gregley. During his employment years Cornell worked as a welder and master electrician in Cleveland, Michigan, New York, Florida, Texas and Honduras.
Cornell enjoyed a great life, he was the the “life” of any party or gathering. He liked Hennessy, a cold beer, good food, dancing, joking,  karaoke and of course hats.
Cornell is preceded in death by his father (Willie Fred Hodges); mother (Thelma Martin Hodges); sister Patricia Hodges.
Cornell leaves to celebrate his heavenly calling; wife Yolande; two sons: Cornell Germaine Gregley, Crestview Fl.  and Eric Cornell Hodges, Katy, TX. three brothers; Willie Fred Hodges Jr. Cleveland, OH., Lawrence Hodges, Cleveland, OH. and Michael Hodges, McKinney, TX. seven sisters; Jean Martin, Loretta Hodges, Georgett Hodges, Hortense Hodges, Gloria Hodges Jackie Hodges and Faye Hodgesall of Cleveland OH.; seven grandchildren; Ta’Nia Wilson, Eric, Cleveland, OH.,   On’jana  Franklin, Houston, TX. Sa’Nia, Kemoni Columbus, OH., Eyanna, Eric Cornell Jr., Katy, TX. two great grandchildren; Germani Wilson-Stewart, Micha McAlpine, Cleveland, OH.Host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Cornell was affectionately called; Honey, Pops / Dad, PaPa, Uncle Keon, Uncle and Uncle C and of course “Hats”.
                                                          Acknowledgements Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.The family wishes to convey our sincere thanks and appreciation for the prayers, calls and Facebook post during our time of bereavement. For this too is the circle of life.
