Fr. Dan has represented many hats for my family, such as the hat of the Father, Priest, Great Listener and the hat of ” The Look of Life” etc. May God Bless and Comfort all of the families of Fr. Dan. Thanks for leading me and my family in the Catholic Religion from St. Catherine’s to Epiphany’s to St. Cecilia’s and St. Mary’s. Fr. Dan you will truly be missed but not your teachings/legacy, they will not be forgotten.

I knew Father Dan from Communion of Saints. I can’t add to all the good things that were already said about him. I know that God has wrapped him in his arms.

Dear Deacon Martin & Rosary: Please accept my condolences and gratitude for God giving us Father Dan. I am so sorry I cannot attend his homegoing, but a Mass will be said for Father Dan Friday, March 3 at Immaculate Conception parish in Durham, North Carolina. The Franciscans are offering prayers for his family and the thousands he touched in his special way. Blessings and peace.

Father Begin is a legend in our times. We have known him for many years at Epiphany and St. Cecilia. He was always warm and open to helping our family if we had any needs and was understanding in making sure that the communities surrounding the churches were served with food, clothing, counseling. We will always remember him fondly and hope that you as the family will let the fond memories of his life sustain you at this difficult time.

Within ten minutes of calling, Fr. Dan was at the hospital attending to the final needs of our loved one. What a loving and compassionate man we will always remember. God bless him and all he touched.

The family of Elder & Mrs. A. L. Perry wishes to express their heartfelt condolences to the family of Father Dan. My parents have owned a home on E. 150th St. since January, 1956. My Dad was a Pastor and he and Father Dan developed a great friendship when he was assigned to St. Cecelia Catholic Church! Father Dan allowed our family to use the church for my father’s service because my Dad’s church would not accommodate all the people. We never forgot that act of kindness. He had a great personality and I know that, if such an event does occur, both men of God are totally rejoicing at seeing one another again. May God continue to Bless our families.

To the Begin Family: My mother was a member of Epiphany Church and my oldest sister and I were members of St. Cecilia’s Church. That meant we were fortunate to have a lot of contact with Father Dan. He was the most loving person I’ve ever met in my life. The religious community is really losing a gem with his passing. We had many great times with him. He has been there for me during difficult times and joyous times. I am forever grateful that God put him in our family’s life.

Sorry to hear about Father Dan’s passing. He touched my life when I went back to St. Mary, after been closed for a long time. Thanks to him I received my confirmation. I will miss him. Rest in peace in God’s loving care.

The former “leader” at St Cecelias Catholic Church, who failed to file an appeal to the Vatican, which would have saved St Cecelia from the Ku Klux Klan agenda of the Cleveland Catholic Diocese. Until its closing, St Cecelias was probably the only Catholic church located in a predominately black slum. Whatever the case, did not know he had passed, but he will answer to God now, and I will remember him as someone who failed St Cecilia because he did not appeal to the Vatican and now it is forever closed
